Today’s little hack is indeed little. It is tiny! This is a micro thing you can do. Today. Right now. It takes about ten seconds. I got this little gem from Chade-Meng Tan, a former Google engineer, when he was a guest on one of my favourite podcasts Note to Self.
To practice kindness as a part of an overall mindfulness practice he presented this little exercise.
“Secretly think, I wish for this person to be happy.”
Think of a person, preferably one who is (emotionally) close to, you and wish for this person to be happy. You can do this even if the person is not present right now. Just close your eyes, picture the person and wish for them to be happy.
Done. Easy as pie!
This little exercise is good for yourself as well as for the other person (in a kumbaya-kind-of-way).
Give this a try and tell me how you felt, especially how you felt after the exercise.
Sincerely, Miss Money Mind
